The social highlight of the year of the Nordic Chambers in Japan, the Scandinavian Joint Christmas Ball was held on Thursday, 7 December 2017 at our regular venue, The Westin Tokyo Hotel in Ebisu, where the party has been held also in 2005-2009 and 2011-2016. The party was attended by 255 members and guests from the five Nordic Chambers of Commerce in Japan. By chambers the SCCJ had 150 participants, FCCJ 38, DCCJ 27, ISCCJ 25 and NCCJ 15.
The ball started with a Lucia procession and greetings from the organizing committee. During the five course dinner, accompanied by fine wines and other drinks chased down with Scandinavian drink songs, the participants could enjoy an exciting Awaodori show and get thrilled in lotteries for 12 valuable prizes.
Santa paid a visit to the Ball, arriving on a Volvo bicycle, assisting in the many lotteries.
The evening was ended off with a lot of dancing until midnight to the tunes of Brad and the Hitmen, our favorite band for 15 years (since 2003).
