RECAP
The first Golf Challenge between the Swedish and Finnish Chamber's of Commerce in Japan was won by Sweden by a team total of 1,037 strokes against Finland's 1,042.2 strokes.

36 players participated in the competition held at a rather difficult and tricky course, Tamatsukuri Golf Club, Nejiki Course in Ibaraki prefecture. As FCCJ was represented by 13 players, also 13 players from SCCJ were calculated in their score, counting their no. 1, no. 3, no. 5, etc. The average score for SCCJ was 79.8 and for FCCJ 80.2, so the winning margin was rather slim, but enough.....

Altough we had some rain in the morning, the match was played in a very good spirit, and all agreed that this new joint event between SCCJ and FCCJ should continue.

The winner of the individual competition was Thomas Tranberg with a net score of 71.4, Eiji Takagi, the Program Committe chairman of SCCJ had best gross, an amazing 77. Best FCCJ player was Kaj Forsell (Tekla K.K.), who came third in the overall reults.

Many thanks goes to all the prize donators, most notably the title sponsor Stora Enso Japan who, in addition to the Cup also donated other prizes and provided caps for both teams, and Wilson Japan who donated a high-end golf driver and a pro golf bag, even though they were not able to participate themselves.

Finally we would like on behalf of FCCJ thank SCCJ for organizing this event, next challenge will be held in connection with the FCCJ Golf Competition in October, when FCCJ will be the organizers, and make an hard effort to take back the cup!
