Dear !*TITLE*! !*LASTNAME*!,

Our Charity Event in Tohoku is taking shape. As I wrote in my previous bulletin, it will take place on Wednesday, 3 August in Sendai, where Sendai City will collect distressed children to a facility called "Nobisuku Sendai". We will prepare about 500 gift bags, each containing 3-4 gifts, which be handed out by two "real" Moomin Characters from Moominworld in Naantali. We are planning one session in the morning and one in the afternoon

We are still in the midst of sourcing presents fro the visit. At present we are planning for Moomin books, paper craft, soft toys, towels, pillow cases, cookies and candies, etc. But we are still open for new ideas and contributions, if you have something in mind, please mail me!

The ACCJ Tohoku Earthquake Information Facilitation Project was created to facilitate discussion regarding a diverse set of people with experiences and ideas for rebuilding Tohoku following the devastating March 11 earthquake and tsunami. A core group of dedicated and influential people have gathered together and focused on ideas in five key areas.

Come hear ACCJ leaders present the results of their efforts in an interactive panel format and join in brainstorming about where we go from here. We will ensure lively discussion with commentary and reactions from Hiroshi Mikitani, Chairman and CEO of Rakuten, Inc., and other special guests.

Friday, 30 September - The North-America - Europe Golf Challenge in Japan
Mercedes-Benz Japan Cup 2011

The 9th North America - Europe Golf Challenge in Japan, the Mercedes-Benz Japan Cup, will be played on Friday, 30 September at the same venue as in previous years, the Atsugi Kokusai Country Club in Kanagawa Prefecture.

The organizing task-force has been working closely with the club to reduce costs, so some portion of the participation fee and sponsorship will be donated to charity along with the presently established charity fundraising activity.

Registration Open
The registration for the event has now been opened. The participation fees are same as last year, i.e. a 3,000 yen non-refundable registration fee and a 21,000 yen fee (paid to the club) for the play, caddie, lunch and party and a lot of great prizes, for a total of 24,000 yen, of which a part will go to charity..

Sponsoring the event
If you want to promote your company through this event, and its web site, please sign up as a sponsor. Sponsors who sign up now will have the additional benefit of getting an almost full one year exposure on the web site (until we open the 2012 site). Sponsorship starts from 40,000 yen (100,000 yen in goods services) and all surplus from the sponsorship money will go to charity.

More Good News and Bad News

A woman phones up her husband at work for a chat. . . .
He: "I'm sorry honey but I'm up to my neck in work today"
She: "But I've got some good news and some bad news for you dear."
He: "OK darling, but since I've got no time now, just give me the good news, OK?"
She: "Well, the air-bag works..."
Best regards
