  ISSUE 2/2003

21 January, 2003

As you notice below (February Luncheon Meeting), the cooperation between the Nordic business organizations in Japan is getting more and more active. We've had the traditional joint Christmas Parties, and alredy twice golf competitions with the Swedish Chamber, and some occasional joint luncheons (like the Finnair CEO luncheon early December).

But now we try to arrange joint meetings on a more regular basis, mainly for two reasons. One is to create more interaction between Nordic companies in Japan, and Japanese companies doing business with Scandinavia, and secondly this enables us to get more prominent guests speakers as we can offer a wider audience.

Grin of the Week

Mental Deficiency

"Would you mind telling me, Doctor," Bob asked, "how you detect a mental deficiency in somebody who appears completely normal?"

"Nothing is easier," he replied. "You ask him a simple question which everyone should answer with no trouble. If he hesitates, that puts you on the track."

"What sort of question?"

"Well, you might ask him, 'Captain Cook made three trips around the world and died during one of them. Which one?'

Bob thought for a moment, and then said with a nervous laugh, "You wouldn't happen to have another example, would you? I must confess I don't know much about history."

That's all for now, hope to see many of you at our luncheon meeting on Friday.

Best regards

Clas G. Bystedt
